Granted that your living space will allow it, it's a great idea to have more than one dog at home. Having a dog is great of course. You get to have a pet that you can love, care and grow up with. For one thing, your kids would love them too.

You might get to notice that they had this cute golden retriever that goes by the name of “Sundance.” His whole family, himself included of course, loved that dog.

This whole idea holds true to almost every household that has a pet at home. But since not all of us have someone at home to keep our pets company, they too get lonely sometimes waiting for someone to play with them or keep them company throughout the day. Put yourself in their shoes. If your masters are at work or at school all day and come home late in the day already, wouldn't you be a bit bored being at home all by yourself? You would, now wouldn't you?

1. If you had a male dog at home, give them a female dog so that someday they might mate.

Having puppies at homes is always wonderful. For one thing, their unbelievably cute presence at home will definitely add a smile or two to your day once you get to see them, let alone pet them. Having your own pair of dogs at home can give you this blessing. Dogs that mate can produce more than enough puppies than you could possibly want.

Another nice thing about this is that if you're content with having 2 dogs already, once the puppies are strong enough to be separated from their mother you can give them to your friends and family or you can sell them for a handsome price. Just think about it. Golden retriever or Labrador puppies, they're just the cutest little things growing up.

So if you're up for it, get your pet a well-deserved companion today. It won't divert any attention to your original pet; it'll just add to the love and fun that's already present at home.

2. Sometimes, having more than one dog at home means that you can train 2 dogs for two different purposes.

Say you wanted to have a house dog and another to be your guard dog. Both dogs of course would still be loved as much as they should be. This would be a great idea since security these days is one thing that should be taken seriously. You can't expect a tiny little dog like a Pomeranian to be protecting your house and chasing away those unwanted people right? But of course, small as they may be, they're very, very adorable and perhaps your daughters or your wife would love them. Having another dog at home preferably a big one would be a welcome addition to the boys at home. You can train these dogs to follow your commands so that they can help you in making your home more secure.
